2010 Gratitude Challenge - November 17

For the month of November Our Homeschool Reviews will be participating in a Gratitude Challenge hosted by Brenda at Garden of Learning.  For each day, I'll post about something I am thankful for.

Today I am thankful for...My In-Laws!!  My husband's parents have been very involved in our lives since we have been together.  He is an only child, who didn't move away from home until he finished college, so they have a pretty strong attachment to him.  Right now they live about 30 minutes away from our house and we see them at least once, if not more, each week.

Every Wednesday they come over to see our daughter (and us) and cook dinner.  It is a special treat and nice to not have to worry about dinner one night a week.

We will usually see them on the weekends as well.  They go to all of our daughter's soccer games, piano and dance recitals, swim meets, and anything else she has going on.  They make sure not to miss a thing.

I should be honest and add that not all visits are warm and fuzzy (sometimes not even warm), but I hope they know we love them and appreciate all that they do for us!  :o)

It sounds like you have a good relationship with them even though it may not always be easy. It's not always easy to take the good with the bad, but we're blessed when we focus on the positive.

Have a blessed day!

That is a wonderful blessing for you to have a close relationship with your in-laws. When mine visit, the kids love it if they are able to attend their recitals and special events.

It must have been hard for his mother to let go. I'm glad they have accepted you and are good to your daughter!

It's hard sometimes to have a warm and fuzzy relationship with the in-laws, but it sounds like they are great grandparents. I've realized that we don't always have to agree with them, we just have to love them.

So glad you have a great relationship with your in-laws. Mine also live close by and I try to focus on the joy they bring to our family and our children and look past their "different" ways of doing things :)
Thanks for sharing another great thankful post at our Thankful Hearts Blog Hop :)
