Weekly Wrap-Up #9

It felt soooo good to get back to school this week!  I am one who loves a schedule!!  Yes, I am THAT person!  I like to make lists, check things off, and cross them out.  :o)

So we started back up with Heart of Dakota's Preparing Hearts for His Glory.  We made a clean break in December so this week we were introduced to several new books (which made my daughter and I VERY excited!!!)  I thought I would share a few.

We have been using the One Small Square books throughout the year.  So far we have read Cactus Desert and Arctic Tundra and Monday we started on Coral Reef.  We just love these books!  They are fun to read and we enjoy looking at the pictures and finding new things.  We only read about 2 pages a day so it is not too overwhelming.  Once a week we have to answer questions about what we read and once a week we complete a project.  It's very laid back and these are some of my daughter's favorite books.

Preparing Hearts for His Glory takes you through Creation to Modern day, and as we are about half way through the book, this week we began with the Germanic Tribes (Vikings, Huns, Vandals, etc).  Leif the Lucky is a short book that I am reading aloud and we have been enjoying learning about the adventures of Leif and his dad, Eric the Red.

Raiders from the Sea is another book I started to read aloud on Monday.  It is about Viking raiders who capture a young girl and her brother, and take them away from their family.  It reminds us that we can ask God for help and that He is with us in whatever we face.  We are only on chapter three and it has already pulled us in.  I can't wait to read more about what will happen to these two children!

Well, that is a little snippet from our busy week.  How was your week?

Thanks for Joining Our Homeschool Reviews and for more Weekly Wrap-Up, this week I am linked up with Kris over at Weird, Unsocialized Homeschoolers.
