Lent 2011

I have been working hard trying to put together some resources for Lent.  So far this is what I've found.

My Blessing From Above gave some great Lent Resources.  One is to this Printable Lenten Calendar for Kids.  We'll be using this to count the days to Easter.

After checking out the wonderful calendar on Catholic Icing, I searched under Lent and came up with a ton of resources and ideas HERE.  I've looked around and printed out several things I think we will use.  I'll have to go back later for more because there are so many fun crafts.

Some more searching around led me to The Catholic Toolbox, which has a special section devoted to Ash Wednesday and Lent

Holy Heros will be presenting a Lenten Adventure (we participated in their Advent Adventure last year).  You can sign up to receive their emails every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during Lent.

Also, take some time to stop by A Slice of Smith Life where Tracy has some great ideas and links.  I really like her Bean Jar idea.

Lastly I found this Daily Lenten Reflection, which is great for all the mommies.

Tomorrow we will be attending Ash Wednesday service at our church.  We plan on talking today and tomorrow about what we will be giving up during Lent.  As of right now, that is still up on the air.

Do you have any Lenten traditions?

Are you Catholic? Just curious since I noticed you listed some Catholic links that I love too :)

May you have a blessed Lent!

Tracy, I know I didn't mention it in my post, but I grew up Catholic. Although our family no longer attends a Catholic Church, the one we do attend observes Lent as well.

Thank you so much for the list. I've been compiling a list myself. I'll have to check some of these out and add them to my favorites.

Thank you for joining in the 40 Days of Seeking Him Lent 2011.

It will be such a blessing to read all the ways everyone is growing and being challenged these next 40 days.

Doesn't Catholic Icing have great ideas for kids? I'll have to check out some of your other links. As a Catholic, I do have quite a bit already but I love new ideas. I think I'm really going to enjoy this meme. I'm glad you're part of it.
