Beanstalk Express Review and Giveaway

As parents, we want the best for our children.  We want them to be happy and healthy, and we try out best, but unfortunately, with all the bad food options out there right now, it is hard.  We want our kids to eat apples and grapes but they want pop tarts and ice cream.  How do we stop the cycle of bad food choices?  Well, we can start at home, and I found a neat product that can help!

Beanstalk Express is a child nutrition information and resource company passionate about ending the epidemic of childhood obesity in America.

Their focus ranges from pregnancy through the preschool years, giving parents the information they need to make smart choice for themselves and their family.  Here you can learn more about food choices during pregnancy and the many stages children go through.

Beanstalk Express has also introduced a really unique and fun product.  It's called The SnackTime Survival Kit.  The kit comes with a wooden clock board which includes one large working clock, three colorful and adjustable snack time clocks, and a deck of 33 snack cards.

Your child chooses between several snacks each morning and parents hang the cards and set the snack clocks.  When the snack clock matches the working clock, it's time for a healthy snack.  Kids and parents can then have fun together making and matching their snack to the picture.

A nice feature of the snack cards is that they are divided into three color coded categories.  Green (for GO) for fruits and vegetables, yellow (for SLOW) for processed snacks, and red (for STOP) for unhealthy choices (the red cards do not have holes for hanging).  The back of each card lists the food choice, some nutritional information about it, and a tip for mom.

My Thoughts:  I think The SnackTime Survival Kit is a great idea and wish we had it when our daughter was younger.  The snack cards are great for getting fun snack ideas and I love the colorful pictures.  Last time I made Ants on a Log our daughter didn't like it.  We tried it again with the help of the snack cards and now she loves it.   :)

Thoughts of an 8-Year Old:  The SnackTime Clock is good.  I like the Apples n' Peanut Butter snack.  The clock is also good because it tells the time in my room! :)

Find Out More:  You can find out more about Beanstalk Express and The SnackTime Survival Kit on their website.  The SnackTime Survival Kit is available for $49.95.  You can also like them on Facebook and Twitter.

I follow you via GFC. Our school group is in need of a clock, and they do snack and lunch time as an enrichment cooking class so this would give us volunteer moms new ideas and it would just be perfect for the kids.
