The church spends $1.5 million for every one new follower of Jesus. Apple sells 26 iPads every minute. What is it that makes Apple so exciting and Jesus so boring? What is it that compels someone to bring their iPod everywhere and their Bible nowhere? In a word: marketing. Jesus is a life-changing product with lousy salespeople—people who are intimidated and embarrassed by the word "evangelism" and who show more enthusiasm for their gadgets than their God.
What would life look like if we stopped mass-marketing Jesus and started marketing our faith like Nike and Apple market their products—relationally, from person to person? Using examples from these and other successful companies, author Tim Sinclair challenges Christians to throw out their casual attitudes toward faith and sign on for a marketing campaign for the Savior.
Written with the wit and wisdom of an experienced marketer, Branded encourages readers to share their faith in ways that are honest, authentic, and most importantly, effective.
My Thoughts: Branded was a quick and easy read with a lot of good information. Tim makes some very valid points and he is challenging us, as Christians, to do more than just write Bible verses on our Facebook and add fish stickers to our cars. What if we do something different? Something that shows who we are as Christians. Volunteer, share experiences with others, donate money or items to a local charity, get to know our neighbors, people at church, people at the grocery store.
I will admit that I am guilty of just posting a Bible verse or writing a check at church. And those are not bad things by any means... sometimes just easy things. After all, we are called in The Great Commission in Matthew 28:19 to "go and make disciples of all nations", and I'm not sure that is what I am doing most of the time.
I know I can do more, and that is why I wanted to read this book. If you are looking for the inspiration and ideas to make a change, than you may want to pick it up and give it a read.
Find Out More: Branded is available to purchase on Kregel Publications and Amazon and comes in paperback and EPUB format. You can find out more about the author, Tim Sinclair, on his website, Facebook page, or on Twitter.

Great post. I appreciate that you told me a little about it, rather than just that you "liked it." I am much more likely to read it now. It sounds very relevant, considering what a consumer-driven culture we have.
I'm so glad my review was helpful for you!
I listen to Tim's radio show most every day and have been excited to read his book. Reading your review makes me more interested to read his book. Now to just get myself a copy of it!
