Are We Surrendering?

Do you surrender to God or are you just going through the motions?

Our pastor has been preaching on the Book of Malachi and it has really got me thinking.  We live in a world consumed with pride and sin!

I am a Christian.

So why do Christians do the things they do?  What motivates us throughout the day?

* Why do we go to church?

* Donate?

* Share the Gospel?

* Go to Bible study?

* Why are we nice others?

I confess that I am broken and a sinner...we all are!   But the Good News is the Jesus died to save us from our sins!!

But it doesn't end there!  We need to surrender!

and then...

Jesus was very specific in His instructions to His disciples at the end of the Book of Matthew -

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. ~ Matthew 28:18-20

The Gospel is not just for us!  It's not ours to covetWe need to lead our lives like Jesus and share the Gospel!

Are we sharing?  And if we are, what is our motivation?  Do we sometimes go to church just to see friends?  Is it just another ritual?  Is it all about us?

Why do we need to lead our lives like Jesus?

But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap. ~ Malachi 3:2

Are you just going through the motions?   Is it all about YOU?  Surrender to Jesus and then make it all about HIM!
