Holiday Bliss - December 13

For the month of December Our Homeschool Reviews will be participating in "Holiday Bliss" hosted by Brenda at Garden of Learning.

To participate, I'll be sharing favorite holiday recipes, crafts, traditions, things we do during the month, thoughts on Christmas, pictures of our family during December, or just anything that has something to do with this blessed holiday season.

Last week my daughter and I went to the Nutcracker for the first time.  We went during the day with our homeschool group for an in-school performance and it was really nice.  (I'm always a little worried about the school crowds during the day, but for the most part, they stayed in control.)

This actually may have been the first time I have ever seen the Nutcracker on stage, and it was certainly our daughters.  She loved the show and was captivated through the whole thing.  I am hoping that we can continue the tradition of attending this show each year.

My only concern now...she wants to try out next year for the show.  We are going to have to think that one over a bit...   ;o)

At times like these, it would be nice to have a daughter. I love the nutcracker. I used to do ballet as a girl, and we did a Christmas pageant to the music of the Nutcracker, and I will always remember my mother taking me into NYC to see the real ballet. It was amazing.

We keep trying to make it to the Nutcracker, but something always seems to happen. I remember going as a child, and it was such a fun time.

I'm glad that you had a lovely day.

I remember going to the Nutcracker once on a school field trip when I was a child. I enjoyed it. I haven't taken my children to see it, and I really should.
