Weekly Wrap-Up #10

This week we were the only state to NOT have snow, so there were no snow days for us.  :o(  On account of that, week two of the new year went really well and we were able to get a lot accomplished.

One very exciting thing for us last weekend was that we were able to get a "new" electric piano!!!  Our daughter has been taking piano lessons for over a year now and she has been practicing on our keyboard.  We finally found this amazing deal through the studio where she takes lessons.  The piano is about four years old but they never used it so it is practically new.  She really loves to practice on it!

Something else new I started this week was a "Words to Work On" list.  Since our daughter is a natural writer and speller, I never really wanted to correct her too much with her spelling, especially if she was just writing for fun.  I've noticed more mistakes lately though, so I am starting a list of words she misspells each day, especially words she is supposed to be copying from a text, which shows she is not paying attention.  I'm writing these words in her notebook and she has to rewrite them three times.

Yesterday there were only two: Galapagos and Medium.  She was copying the word Galapagos so she just wasn't paying close enough attention.  I'm hoping this will help her focus and remember words she is getting incorrect.

That is about it for our week.  How was your week?

Thanks for Joining Our Homeschool Reviews and for more Weekly Wrap-Up, this week I am linked up with Kris over at Weird, Unsocialized Homeschoolers.

Writing the inscorrect words 3 times is by far the best way to learn. It takes time.

New follower from friday hop.

Have a great week end

That is so great on the new piano! We got one from a dear friend for $100 last year and the kids love it. I'm so thankful to have it and can't wait to be able to get the kids piano lessons. I like your idea of the "words to work on", too. I need to do something like that for my daughter.
