Great Gift Ideas: Part 1

Easter is only a few short weeks away.  Homeschool families are planning for their new school year.  Summer will be here before you know it.

What better time than now to run through a list of products we have reviewed and recommend?

Art:

See the Light: The CrossmakerIncluded with the DVD are three step-by-step art lessons: GLORY!, He is Not Here! He is Risen!, and Three Crosses on a Hill.

Audio:

Maestro Classics.  We reviewed Peter and the Wolf.  It begins with an introduction of the characters and the instruments which represent them.  Next, the story is narrated along side the symphony orchestra.  The listener then learns about the composer, Sergei Prokofiev, and more about the music being played.  We loved it so much I am planning on purchasing Swan Lake as a birthday present.

Jim Weiss CDs.  His recordings are available for ages 3 and up (from Animal Tales to the Classic stories), ages 5 and up (from King Arthur and His Knights to Greek Myths), ages 7 and up (from Masters of the Renaissance to Romeo and Juliet), and ages 12 and up.

Bath:

Tru Kid Products.  TruKid products are BPA and Phthalate free.  They are certified organic and their natural ingredients are always SLS, paraben, 1-4 Dioxane and Gluten-free.  The Environmental Working Group (EWG) has awarded TruKid's entire line the safety rating of 0-3!  This is the safest rating of all kid's skin care lines!

Bible:

Apologia: Who Is God? (And Can I Really Know Him?).  In today's world there are so many distractions pulling us away from God.  Many things on TV, online, and in the world appear to be true, but unfortunately, most are not.  It is sometimes hard for adults to tell the difference between the two, so how do we help our children decide what is true and what is not?  This book equips them with the tools they need.

Hollman Illustrated Bible Dictionary for KidsThe moment I took this 200 page, hardcover book out of it's package, my daughter was instantly drawn to it.  As she flipped through, she recognized and read about many people, places, and items that she had already read about in the Bible.  It's a beautiful book!

What's In the BibleI cannot say enough about this DVD series.  It just doesn't tell stories from the Bible, it connects the stories and events of the Bible together to help us understand His whole story.  Great for kids of all ages.

Clothing:

KidorableKidorable transforms everyday, functional kids' accessories into playful, bright, and exciting works of art!  Products include umbrellas that look like dinosaurs, frogs, and cats, and raincoats that resemble pirates, spacesuits, and butterflies.  I've already purchased some more items that I've stashed away for birthday and Christmas.

I hope this list is helpful and you were able to get a few good gift ideas!  Look for Great Gift Ideas: Part 2 tomorrow!
