Heart of the Matter is in full swing with their Not Back to School Blog Hop and today starts School Room Week.
Our school room is just our extra bedroom, transformed. It is actually our school room / movie room (but more on that in a minute).
This is where I keep all of our school books, by subject, in each cubby. It is not too hard to organize since I have just one child. She's in 3rd grade now so I have pretty much cleaned out all books from 1st grade and below.
There is a small art desk not pictured in the room above, but we pretty much do all school work at the family kitchen table, which works well because I can be cleaning or doing other things nearby while she works. It can also hold all of her work for the day, which I try to lay out for her before we start.
In our living room is the piano where she practices each day.
Oh, and I can't forget to tell you how this school room is also used as a movie room! Hubby hooked up a projector on a shelf in the closet. When the closet is shut, everything is hidden. We painted the room a dark blue and left a white space for the screen. When it is time for a movie, we pull out the bean bag chairs and relax.
So that is our "school room." Hop on over to Heart of the Matter and take a look around if you have some time this week.

What a great idea to make a "movie" room! Love that you left that rectangle white, must make movie nights so fun at your house.

Great room! Hope you have a super new school year.
What a great projector screen...very cool idea! Your cubbies are perfect for sorting each subject too.
Love the movie screen idea! I'm visiting from the(not)Back to School blog hop. Have a great school year!
Great school room, so jealous as we don't have one yet. Clearing off the dining table every time we want to eat is getting old:) Love the movie idea:)
