Kidecals Review

Think of all the times your children have left their belongings somewhere else. At a friend's home, family event, large gathering, daycare, school, sports practice, game, camp, or after school activity.

If only there was a label made to fit and stay on practically everything?!

Well, there is!  With Kidecals you can create stylish and durable labels for all your valuables. Clothes, water bottles, shoes, chargers, phones, laptops, camping gear, luggage, toys, and more!

The best part is that Kidecals labels are:

* Waterproof
* Laundry Safe
* Microwave Safe
* Dishwasher Safe
* BPA Free

So why am I interested in Kidecals? Our daughter dances and has several different pairs of shoes to keep track of. She also travels to performances, conventions, and competitions. So there is a pretty good chance that at some point she will leave a shoe at the dance studio, mix hers up with someone else's, or accidentally put her shoes in the wrong dance bag. For those reasons, I like to put labels on the inside of her shoes. I look for two things. They need to be small and they need to be able to stick really, really well. Kidecals labels are perfect!

We also use them on her phone charger. I can't tell you how many times her charger has been left at a friend's house after a sleepover. And of course, all the chargers look the same.

Their website points out some other great ways to use their labels, like as allergy alerts and canning labels.
Find Out More: You can find out more about the huge variety of labels they offer at Kidecals. Labels come in various sizes and sets. Use code kidecalslabel to get 15% off!  You can also get more information on Facebook or Twitter.

Mighty Mug Review and Giveaway!

Now I've seen it all!  I just had the opportunity to review the coolest product ever!  A must-have for anyone who takes drinks on the go, whether coffee or water!

It's the Mighty Mug!

The Mighty Mug "is the world's only mug that grips to your desk when knocked into, but lifts naturally."

You really have to see it to believe it, so here is a short video showing how the mug works.

Pretty neat, huh?!

The Mighty Mug is currently available in a 16oz size, which I received, and a smaller 11oz, which fit under most single serve coffee machines.

The Mighty Mug has SmartGrip Technology that keeps the mug upright to avoid spills and leaks, is BPA free, car cup holder friendly, and most are dishwasher safe.

They come in variety of colors and the stainless steel is double walled, vacuum-insulated to keep beverages warm for up to 6 hours and cold for up to 12 hours.

My daughter and I thought we would make our own video to test it out. See it below. :)  We were impressed that nothing we did was able to tip it over.  Hubby was pretty impressed too. We've never seen anything like it.

GIVEAWAY!!

Win a FREE Mighty Mug!  One lucky winner chosen at random will receive a $30 gift card to purchase their very own Mighty Mug!

Combat Source Kill Max Ant Bait and Gel Giveaway & Sweepstakes! - ENDED

Combat Source Kill Max Ant Killing Gel gets your ant problem under control in just three to five days. It’s formulated to attract ants quickly, while its fast-acting insecticide, Fipronil, starts killing in hours. Worker ants return to the colony and feed the bait to the larvae and to the queen, eliminating the entire ant colony. This gel is easy to use so you can apply it in cracks, crevices and other hard-to-reach places.

Combat Source Kill Max Ant Bait contains a powerful
insecticide, Fipronil, which kills most ants commonly found in households. Ants are attracted to the bait and then carry it back to their colony to destroy the queen and entire colony. These easy-to-use, no-mess, child-resistant ant baits need no activation. Just place them where you have seen ants and they will work day and night to control the problem killing ants at the source.

I am anxious to see how the gel works.  We don't really have an ant problem, but every once and a while we will get those tiny, little ants in various rooms of the house, like the bathroom.  It's very random and just a few will show up and then they're gone.  Of course I always wonder how in the world they are getting in.

And the gel can be used outside as well.  I'll be placing it near our front and back doors.

Do you have an ant problem?  Before you enter my giveaway below, first enter to win $1,000 to throw your very own Bug-Free Backyard Bash!!

Hoover MaxExtract 60 Carpet Cleaner

I was soooo excited when I found out that I was selected to take part in the Hoover Review Program and would be receiving a Hoover MaxExtract 60 Pressure Pro Carpet Deep Cleaner!!!  Our carpets need it!

From the manufacturer:

This MaxExtract® deep cleaner is designed to thoroughly clean carpets and rugs.  This easy-to-use machine removes water, dirt and grime with pressurized cleaning, and has heated drying for a fast dry time. Features a double chamber nozzle to power wash surfaces with even suction across a wide path, while the automatic detergent system provides the right ratio of detergent and water for the best cleaning results. Patented Hoover® SpinScrub® brushes gently loosen dirt and clean all sides of carpet and upholstery fibers, with an adjustable speed control for various floor surfaces, including a Spill Pick-Up mode so you don't scrub in spills.

Features:
  • MaxExtract® DualV® Nozzle Technology - we're pulling up a lot of dirty water so your floors dry fast and you'll be back to living on those deep-cleaned floors quickly.
  • Pressurized Edge-to-Edge Cleaning - a wall of pressurized water that loosens and lifts stubborn stains with constant and relentless spray.
  • SpinScrub® 60 - counter-rotating brushes engineered to surround carpet fibers, removing dirt at every angle. It's like treating your carpet to a deep, massaging salon shampoo.
  • Heated Cleaning - powerful motor with forced heated air to help speed dry time.
  • Auto Conversion Tools - conveniently positioned where they should be - right at your fingertips.
  • SmartTanks™ System - separate tanks for clean and dirty water, so you can easily fill, empty and rinse each tank individually!
So here is what I thought.

Pros:  It was very easy to take out of the box and assemble.  I only had to attach the handle, upper tank, and wind the hose and cord and secure them.  It only took me a few minutes to put it together.

Filling the tank was simple.  Remove the upper tank, open one hole and fill with water and open the other and fill with detergent and water, and then lock the tank back into place.

Cleaning was easy.  Press the button on the handle and push the cleaner to dispense the detergent and water and then release and go back over the area to dry.

To clean out the tank, I removed it and dumped it out.  The water was black...gross!!

I cleaned the carpets close to 3:00 and by the time I came home at 6:00, they were completely dry.

Cons:  Although I think this machine did a great job cleaning our carpets, I do need to mention a few things I didn't like.  It is very loud!  I've used carpet cleaners before and this one is LOUD!  It is also a bit bulky and heavy as well.  But it got the job done so I really can't complain.  I'll just make sure no one is sleeping or watching TV when I clean the carpets.  ;)

Find Out More:  You can find out more online at Hoover, Amazon, or Target.  Prices vary based on where you purchase it.

Disclaimer:  I received a sample of this product to facilitate my review, but my opinions are entirely my own.

Perfect Sandwich Review

I found a really neat product that I just had to try and share with you!  Before kids, hubby and I would pack our lunches just about everyday and take them to work.  Our usual sandwich was turkey and cheese with a little mayo.  Kinda sad sounding, huh?!  We never added lettuce, tomato, and onions because the sandwich would just be a soggy mess by the time we ate it for lunch.

Well, I've discovered the neatest product that will prevent those soggy sandwiches and also eliminate the need to use tons of plastic baggies.  It's called the Perfect Sandwich.

Here is how it works:

1. Add the cool pack from the freezer to the bottom section and put the wet ingredients on top.

2. Pop-up the rubber divider to allow room for the fresh ingredients or push it down to hold a full sandwich.

3. Close the middle divider to seal in the wet ingredients, then place bread on the dry top.  It will fit regular sandwich bread perfectly but as you can see below, we had sub bread.  I was happy it still fit.  :)

4. Close entire container and secure the latch creating a water-tight seal.

The sandwich above was made for my hubby and he took it to work.  He said it worked really well and his sandwich was great!

Funny Bunny tends to eat PB&J though, so I did something a little different for her.  I packed the sandwich on top where the bread would normally go.

And below, where the ice pack would be placed, I packed some fruit.  The fruit was secure and didn't move around. And since it has a water-tight seal, no juices dripped out.

Find Out More:  You can find out more online at Contain This.  The Perfect Sandwich is just $12.99 or you can get a 4-pack for the whole family for $46.95.  You can also read more about its Perfect Design.

ZeroWater Review and Giveaway!

I don't know about you, but I don't like drinking tap water.  I just don't like the taste.  In our home we either drink the water from the filtration system in our refrigerator or we drink bottled water.

But why do so many people not like the taste of tap water?  I think most people are aware that not all tap water tastes the same.  I would say that every home has water with a distinct taste.  And as a person who usually orders water at restaurants, I can say that I have had some pretty bad tasting water!!

Well, if you can't taste the stand either, and have been looking for a way to save money, and the environment, by not buying bottled water, I have a solution - ZeroWater!

ZeroWater filters produce the only filtered water that meets the FDA definition for Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in purified bottled water. So you get purified-quality water without the plastic bottles or the high cost.

When you purchase a ZeroWater pitcher, it comes with a TDS meter so you can test your water.  Below is a nice guide to see what could be in your water.  Yuk!

 We ran three tests.  The first was on our tap water.  It had a TDS reading of 106.  According to their guide, that is about right for our region.

The second test we ran was on the filtration system in our refrigerator.  It had a TDS reading of 86.  That's better than the average conventional filtered water, but still kinda grosses me out, and is really not that far from the tap water.

Then we tested the ZeroWater.  It had a TDS reading of 0.

The ZeroWater Pitcher is very easy to use.  Simply fill the water reservoir and the water goes through the filter into the pitcher.

It fits in the fridge fine and when it is too heavy to lift, there is a water dispenser I can use.

My Thoughts:  I think the ZeroWater pitcher works great and I really like having the TDS Meter to test water.  I'm even thinking of carrying it with me when we go out.  That would be a fun experiment.

I was surprised at how slow the water is filtered to the pitcher but found out that it is regulated that way to ensure the water has enough time to pass through each filtering stage and be cleaned thoroughly.  So I just fill the water reservoir, put the lid on, and place it in the fridge while it filters through.

Find Out More:  You can find out more online at ZeroWater.  The 10-Cup Pitcher, which includes 1 filter and 1 TDS Meter sells for $34.99.  Additional filters are $29.99 for two.  Also use coupon code MC30, which will give you 30% off a 10 Cup ZeroWater pitcher!!  You can sign up to receive more coupons online.  You can also find ZeroWater on Facebook.

Purex Triple Action Giveaway!!

Purex is rolling out a new Triple Action formula across the entire liquid laundry detergent line.  This new and improved Triple Action formula delivers even better on Purex's promise to leave your clothes bright, while, and clean, and as always, for half the price of the leading brand!

Growing up, my mom always bought the "expensive detergent", so when I got married and moved out, I started buying the same thing.  In time, I started budgeting and was really watching where our pennies went.  Did we really need to spend that much on detergent?

So I switched many times and realized that the cheaper detergents work just as well!

New Purex Triple Action leverages the best parts of their current formula, combined with new additions, to deliver great cleaning plus improved brightening power.  And just like their current detergents, new Purex Triple Action has been specifically formulated to work in both traditional and High Efficiency (HE) washers.

Purex Triple Action comes in a variety of scents and I am happy to share that they have a Free and Clear option, which is what I received.

My Thoughts:  I love using Purex because of its great price and cleaning power.  I save money and our clothes come out smelling and looking clean.  It's now the only laundry detergent I buy!!

Find Out More:  You can find out more about Purex Triple Action laundry detergent on their website.

Wreaths of Maine Review

I love the Christmas season...the music, the decorations, the anticipation...and the wonderful scents!!

We buy a fresh Christmas tree each year and we love to walk around the tree lot and take in all the smells of the fresh trees.  It's one of Funny Bunny's favorite things to do all year.

I never even thought about purchasing a fresh wreath though, until I heard of Wreaths of Maine

Wreaths of Maine is located on the edge of Down East Maine in a town that has been making holiday greens to garnish doors since the first German settlers arrived in the 1700's. {Doesn't that sound so inviting?}

As soon as our Christmas wreath arrived at the door, I opened it's large box and took in the aroma of fresh Balsam fir.  Wreaths of Maine uses Balsam fir to make their double sided wreaths because it is plentiful, but mostly because it smells so good. It is one of the most aromatic greens around that most Mainers equate to the smell of Christmas.

I cannot even begin to explain how beautiful our new wreath is...and my picture just doesn't do it justice.

It measures a whole two feet across and fits our front door perfectly!  I love that every time I open the door I can take in it's wonderful smell.

Another very neat fact about Wreaths of Maine is that 90-95% of their wreaths are sold by home-schooled children or groups; an idea implemented by the founder from the experience of his home-schooled kids.

I received a fundraiser packet as well and the process is quite simple.  Included in the packet are color brochures, order forms, envelopes, labels, a seller ID, and instructions.

You can sell door to door, online, or to family and friends and you earn between $4 and $10 per wreath sold, depending on the type.  You can find more about selling wreaths here.

My Thoughts:  I think these wreaths are gorgeous and would make a beautiful addition to any entryway!

Find Out More:  You can find out more about Wreaths of Maine on their website and on Facebook.  Wreaths cost between $31 and $42 and also available for purchase are sprays and roping.  You can even select the date you would like your fresh wreath to arrive on your doorstep.

If purchasing, please consider selecting our Seller ID: 5058 - Our Homeschool Reviews All proceeds will go toward Funny Bunny's dance company activities (which she will be working very hard to pay for this year).  :)

And, as a special bonus, if you enter code TOS, you will receive a FREE 12-month subscription to The Old Schoolhouse!!

My Crewmates are also reviewing Wreaths of Maine, so you can check out what they think HERE.
