Lots of Fun Awards!!

I received a couple of fun emails this week!  My Heart's Desire awarded me the Life is Good and The Versatile Blogger awards and Loving Learning at Home awarded me the Stylish Blogger Award! 

The rules are to answer questions about myself and pass the awards onto other bloggers who I think are deserving.  I'm combining all three awards to make this easier. 

1.  I was born in New Jersey but moved south in 4th grade.
2.  The last time I was in snow was when I was 8 years old.
3.  I started drinking coffee only about a year ago...I ♥ Starbucks!!
4.  I didn't play any sports in high school.  I enjoy running now.
5.  We went to Hawaii on our honeymoon...The Big Island and Maui.
6.  I want to go on a Disney cruise!!!
7.  I have one brother who is 3 1/2 years younger than me.
8.  My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving.
9.  I've never smoked a cigarette (not even one puff).
10. I don't like to wear makeup.

Stylish Blogger Award!!

I just received a wonderful email from Michelle over at A Life Better Than I Deserve awarding me the Stylish Blogger Award!  That just made my night...and on the heels of my blog makeover!

So I want to thank Michelle from A Life Better Than I Deserve for thinking of me!  Next is the hard part...listing 7 things about myself...

1.  Since we are having family movie time right now (and yes, I am multitasking on the laptop), I thought I would talk movies.  I love musicals and tonight we are watching Mary Poppins (our daughter's pick).  Growing up I loved West Side Story but that has been replaced with Guys and Dolls, followed closely by Singing in the Rain. 

2.  Another favorite movie of mine is Gone with the Wind.  We tried to get our daughter to watch that tonight...maybe next time.  ;o)

3.  Switching topics...let's talk about what I'm not good at.  Hmmm, this should be easy.  Cooking, anything related to music or singing, sewing...OK, pretty much anything under the category of "homemaker", but I at least I try...  

4.  I love to travel and wish we went on more vacations.  We've visited most of the major cities in the U.S. but we've never been overseas.  There are so many places I would love to visit.  

5.  I've really never liked writing and I was never that child who always had my nose in a book.  So why did I start blogging?  I enjoy homeschooling and I love sharing ideas.  I hope that at least one person is helped by what I write.

6.  I was never a morning person and have always slept through any noise.  Nowadays I wake up at the drop of a dime, multiple times a night for no reason, get up early and can't get back to bed, and sometimes can't go to sleep for hours because my mind won't settle.  Not sure if that is from motherhood or from just getting older...

7.  Oh, I'm running out of things to tell.  Ummm...I'm an animal lover (and so is our daughter).  I don't even go to the circus because of the way they treat the animals.  :o(  The only pet I had growing up was a fish (poor Harvey).  In case you didn't know, we have a Miniature Schnauzer now.  She's definitely part of the family and we love her!!

SisterTipster awarded me The Versatile Blogger award!  This is my very first blogger award, so I feel honored.  ;o)

1. I do not like listing things about myself...lol! 


2. I love to coupon and wish I had more time to do it.

3. I wish I was a better gardener and every year I say that I will start a big garden and plant tons of flowers and trees but it never happens.  :o(

4. I LOVE to travel and hopefully as our daughter gets older we will travel more!

5. I enjoy running and wish I would get into the habit of running more often and entering more races.

6. The chore I hate the most is cleaning the bathrooms...Yuck!!

7. I really love my family.  I enjoy homeschooling and love reading about different curriculum.  I love my husband and spending time with him.  He's the best!
